Gassville has a mayor/council form
of government with six council members. Four city police officers
serve the town full time, assisted by two additional part-time
officers. The Gassville Volunteer Fire Department has 14 volunteers.

City Utilities
Water
Gassville currently uses just over one-half of its water storage
capacity of 250,000 gallons. The usage is 135,000 daily.
Water rates are based on 2,000 gallons/month minimum usage
at $10.18 with declining rates for additional usage, as follows:
- 2,001 to 4,000 gallons, $2.83/1,000 gallons
- 4,001 to 6,000 gallons, $2.25/1,000 gallons
- 6,001 to 8,000 gallons, $1.99/1,000 gallons
- 8,001 to 10,000 gallons, $1.94/1,000 gallons
- above 10,000 gallons, $1.94/1,000 gallons
Sewer
Gassville has teamed up with its nearby neighbor, Cotter,
to provide wastewater treatment service to its residents,
and the plant has been recently expanded. The treatment capacity
is 500,000 gallons/day, and daily use is 220,000 gallons.

ISO Fire Rating
Gassville has a fire insurance rating of 5 from the Insurance
Services Office, Inc. (ISO), based on a scale of 1 to 10
with 1 being the best rating. Factors considered in the rating
are numerous but include the community's fire services, such
as water supply, storage capacity and flow, fire alarms,
communications system, fire companies and their locations,
and testing procedures. Residents may find out from their
insurance companies exactly what dollar amount the ISO rating
translates into.
